Laguna Tools collects sales tax in accordance with applicable state and local laws, based on the order’s ship-to address.
To purchase tax-exempt, the Customer must provide a valid, complete, and signed exemption or resale certificate for the ship-to state. Certificates may be uploaded through the Customer’s Laguna Tools account or emailed to [email protected]. Tax exemption will be applied only after the certificate has been reviewed and approved by Laguna Tools. Sales tax charged on orders placed before approval is not guaranteed to be refunded.
Status as a school, nonprofit, or government entity does not automatically qualify an order for exemption. Exemption rules vary by state, and some states, including California, do not exempt sales to these organizations. Purchases by federal government agencies are exempt only when paid directly with federal government funds.
The Customer is responsible for the accuracy of all exemption information provided and must notify Laguna Tools of any change in exempt status. Expired or invalid certificates will not be honored. Laguna Tools reserves the right to reject any certificate and to charge applicable sales tax. If a taxing authority later disallows a claimed exemption, the Customer agrees to pay any resulting tax, penalties, and interest.
