Job description
CNC Field Technician – will train and must be able to travel
Laguna Tools is a leading manufacturer of award-winning woodworking and CNC Machines. Our business in on a fast track growth trajectory and we need highly motivated, hardworking field engineers to set up CNC Machines throughout North America. The Field Support Technician is responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and services, as well as communicating effectively with team members within the company. Your typical day will consist of installation of machines and troubleshooting problems onsite in our customer’s facilities. 75% Travel will be required.
 
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Respond to service calls and travel to client locations to provide on-site technical support.
  • Install, maintain, and repair CNC Routers, Plasmas, Lasers, and machines with knife cutting capabilities.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  • Install, configure, and set up equipment, machinery, or systems according to specifications and client requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks, diagnose issues, and repair or replace faulty components to ensure optimal performance of equipment or systems.
  • Conduct testing and quality assurance procedures to verify functionality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, installations, and other relevant information. Complete service reports, documentation, and paperwork as required.
  • Interact with clients or customers in a professional and courteous manner. Provide clear explanations of technical issues, solutions, and recommendations. Provide training and support to clients or end-users on the proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment or systems.
Qualifications:
  • High school Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or Certification in an Electrical Mechanical field preferred
  • Prior CNC experience (Operation or maintenance).
  • Mechanical and Electrical aptitude a MUST.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Preferred prior knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) /computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
  • PC literate with strong Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and file compression skills.
  • Excellent understanding of basic electricity and electronics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of personalities to effectively respond to and resolve technical situations.
  • Steady and reliable work record.

  • Detail-oriented and the ability to multi-task.
  • Efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiastic and possesses excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to calculate basic math.

Laguna Tools is an award-winning leading manufacturer of woodworking and CNC machines. We are looking for a career-minded Customer Service Technician with an interest in automation and CNC Machines. This is an ideal position for an individual with a mechanical and or electrical aptitude for learning machinery.
 
Job description
The CNC Technician provides customer service by phone, email, and occasionally in-person. Customer needs will range from technical support, sales, software support, and machine troubleshooting. This position is responsible for providing effective customer service for all CNC and edge bander customers by using excellent in-depth knowledge of company products and services as well as communicating effectively with team members within the Customer Service department.
 
Essential Functions:

This position is in an office setting.
  • Software/application training and support for existing customers
  • CAD/CAM for software/project videos
  • Demo programming (with advance notice and deposit)
  • CNC troubleshooting, training, support, install, customer success, etc.
  • Checking and updating post processors
  • Help support and identify whether complex cases are software related
  • Speaking with customers in a polite manner, addressing customer concerns patiently
  • Resolving customer concerns to the fullest
  • Respond to customer emails in a timely manner
 
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent, plus 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish – a plus
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents
