Industrial Bandsaws

LT24x24

When Torben was developing the Laguna line of Bandsaws, he designed the LT24x24 with a specific woodworker in mind, the wood turner. Manufactured in the northern area of Italy, this beast has two feet of resawing capacity, which is beneficial when you are preparing large bowl blanks. In addition, the significant cast iron table is capable of handling the wood without obstruction. The LT24x24 allows you to have the flexibility of producing work performed on very narrow blades for scroll work but on a much larger machine. This is Torben’s favorite saw because of the versatile performance it allows the woodworker, which is much the same as our best selling smaller bandsaws but in a larger machine.

Wooden Spatula
Here’s a great gift you can make on your lathe. The handle of this spatula is turned, and the end is shaped using the bandsaw and sanding. Make more than one, everyone you know will want a spatula.
As we move into the summer months, my project ideas seem to gravitate to projects which support warm weather activities. My friend Dave likes to take along a selection of his favorite micro-brews when he attends a summertime picnic or BBQ, so I decided to make something for him to showcase his cool cargo.

Most woodworkers would cut this joint at the tablesaw with a dado set. While that’s certainly a fitting way to cut half-laps, I wanted to show another quick and easy way to cut them at the bandsaw. All it requires is a fence with stop block, and a miter gauge.
