Laguna Appoints Matthew Thackray as Chief Commercial Officer

Grand Prairie, TX — September 2025

Laguna, a leading manufacturer of CNC machinery and woodworking equipment, today announced the appointment of Matthew Thackray as Chief Commercial Officer, effective September 1, 2025.

As CCO, Thackray will lead all commercial functions, including direct and indirect sales, marketing, customer service, and the company’s enterprise go-to-market strategy. His mandate includes strengthening commercial discipline, advancing data-driven decision-making, deepening customer engagement, and supporting the company’s long-term value-creation plan.

“Matt is a proven leader with extensive experience in the industrial technology and capital equipment sectors,” said Stephen Stoppenbrink, Chief Executive Officer of Laguna. “His background in PE-backed environments and his ability to build scalable commercial systems will be essential as we continue to expand the Laguna platform.”

Thackray brings more than a decade of senior leadership experience, including multiple roles within the private-equity industrials vertical. Most recently, he served as EVP & General Manager (Americas) at Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems, where he led commercial, service, and operational teams through a transformative phase following a carve-out and the acquisition and integration of Dallas, TX-based MultiCam Inc. He has also held leadership positions across industrial manufacturing and technology businesses in both the United States and Canada, with a focus on commercial transformation, organizational alignment, and market expansion.
