The H-Clip system requires a precise depth of cut to perform at its greatest strength. However, many materials have thickness variances that affect the precise fit. The floating shoe spindle rides along the surface of the material with the boring tool protruding through the bottom. This design results in the exact depth needed for consistent cutting.
